Football Medicine® was created in 2015 and just one year after we celebrate our anniversary by presenting our first scientific research article entitled Calf injuries in professional football, treat the patient or the scan? A case study.
This case study is meant to show how, sometimes, in professional sports medicine, clinical management should conciliate a number of factors and decisions that should not exclusively rely on imaging findings, without, however, neglecting its contribution in the clinical decision concerning athletic participation.
We also wish to show our gratitude to Dr. Ara Kassarjian for his determinant collaboration and expertise in the elaboration of this article.
