João Pedro Araújo is a Portuguese Physiatrist Doctor with a big passion: FOOTBALL. Soon after graduating in Porto University he was already finishing in this Medical School his first degree in Sports Medicine and, at the same time, he joined the SC Braga Medical Department supporting the academy and the reserve team.

So, just with 24 years old, he was able to join his passion to his medical career.5 years later, after he graduated as PM&R Specialist, finished his Sports Medicine Master Degree in the Real Madrid Graduate School and completed many others sports medicine courses (mainly in USA and UK), he was invited for the position of SC Braga Clinical Director becoming, at the age of 29, the youngest clinical director of a club participating in UEFA competitions. During the next 5 years, leading SC Braga Medical Department he achieved:
– 1 intertoto cup
– 1 League Cup (2nd cup of the history of the club)
– Vice Champion of Portuguese League (best position ever)
– 2 Champions League Participations (the only 2 in the history of the club)
– Vice Champion of Europe League.

At the same time, he was one of the key elements that made possible the attribution to the EM Clinic in Porto of the honorific title: FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence.

Since 2010, he has been the responsible for the sports medicine department in that institution, where he developed many medical skills, especially in minimal invasive procedures under ultrasound guidance.

During these years, he has also been teaching in Porto and Minho University as an invited teacher.

In 2013 he was invited to join Al Ahli Club Dubai as Medical Director and in his first year in the club he saw his team winning the League title, the Supercup and the Etisalat Cup. In the 2014 Dubai Sports Excellence Program (by Dubai Sports Council) Al Ahli Club won in the category of Best Medical Unit.

After the first two successful years in the UAE he was transferred to Al Jazira Sports Club as Director of Medical Unit. Owned by His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, actual owner of several football clubs around the world, from which Manchester City comes as the biggest name, Al Jazira represents one of the biggest references in Middle East football.
